Description

Come help our expert staff to maintain some of the most beautiful, pristine parklands in Santa Clara Valley. An important element of this task is to remove non-native plant species, and volunteers are vital to this labor intensive task.
You will work on brushing trails in Almaden Quicksilver County Park. Volunteers meet at the Hacienda parking lot on Almaden Rd. just past the community of New Almaden.
Pre-registration is mandatory. No special skills are required but the work may be moderately strenuous. Tools, works gloves and snacks are provided; please bring your own bottled water.
Sturdy hiking shoes, long pants and long sleeves are recommended, as is sun protection and/or rain gear.

Requirements

Volunteers age 14-15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian through the entire event. To save time please bring a signed volunteer application -- or you may fill one out at the event.
Volunteers age 16-17 may participate without parent/guardian supervision, but only if they present a complete County Parks volunteer application signed by a parent/guardian. Application forms are available with this posting, or at the event but a parent/guardian must be present to sign.
